Enjoy local French cuisine – and arguably some of the best food on the planet.
Burgundy is probably the best region of France to get a real taste for French Gastronomy and drink delicious wine – and that's exactly where we're staying.
Expect to eat snails, chicken, beef, duck in red or white wine sauce, paté, and a lot of cheese! A Chef will be preparing dinners and give you a cooking class to teach you the best recipes of this beautiful region!
In Spain, expect to eat a lot of delicious tapas (small Spanish savory dishes). From patatas bravas, croquetas, tortillas to gambas al ajillo (prawns with garlic and olive oil), pulpo a la gallega (octopus) and calamari. And let’s not forget the famous paella of course!
Moderate - This trip is a good mix of activity and relaxation and includes moderate physical activities. Participants should expect to be active 3-4 hours most days and to walk a lot. An active lifestyle is helpful though not required to enjoy the trip.
Of course! This trip is your trip, and you don’t have to participate in anything you don’t want to. Just be aware that opting out of included activities will not change the price of your trip.
There will be limited time spent in both Paris and Barcelona. You will be spending half a day in Paris on Day 1 and half a day in Barcelona on Day 10. This will be enough time to see some of the most famous landmarks in each city.
If you’d like to enjoy all of what these two beautiful cities have to offer, we recommend you arrive early or extend your trip.
If you have any diet restrictions or allergies, we’ll do our best to arrange a special menu for you as we want everyone to be well-fed!
Please be aware that vegetarianism in France and Spain is not as common as it might be in your home country. Choices in restaurants are very limited and basic like soups, salads, cheese, yogurt, fruits.
Those who are vegan or on gluten-free diets may find this region very challenging. If you fall within this category we recommend you bring your own snacks.
In Paris and in Barcelona- We stay in small boutique hotels that are centrally located and just a short walk to the main landmarks.
In Burgundy- You’ll be staying in a private house for only our group. Fancy, right? The house is located in a very small village in Burgundy, a 30-minute drive from Beaune.
Solo travelers will be paired with someone of the same gender.
You can request a friend to be your roommate upon checkout. If you'd prefer not to have a roommate, private room options are available upon request, subject to hotel availability for an extra charge. Please contact email@example.com for more details.
The months of May, June, and September are optimal to visit France and Spain.
Temperatures at this time of the year range 64°F to 82°F. September is still warm and also less crowded.
July & August can be very hot with temperatures ranging from 77°F to 95°F.
Depending on what time of the year you visit France & Spain, you may pack differently. Check out the full France & Spain packing list.
The lighter the better! If you only have a rolling suitcase that will work, but if you can get your hands on a more mobile bag, like a large backpack, that would be better. We take all forms of transportation and some guesthouses/hotels don’t have elevators.
You'll also want a daypack for your personal gear, food, and drinks for the day.
Laundry will be available at some hotels for an additional fee. Ask your trip leader for details.
You won’t have any issue finding an ATM in France or Spain. They are very common. In Burgundy, you will stay in a small village and there won’t be any ATMs there; therefore we recommend you to bring some cash.
Credit cards are widely accepted by stores, hotels, and restaurants in France and Spain. However, smaller cafes and shops may not accept credit cards so make sure you carry enough cash to cover small purchases. Please let your bank know you’re traveling overseas.
It is safe to drink water from taps in France as well as in Spain, unless otherwise marked. However the water from taps may have a funny taste and restaurants will always have bottled water. For environmental reasons, we recommend you to use a refillable water bottle rather than buying bottled water.
U30X is such an amazing travel community. Once your trip is over, the experience is not. They keep in touch with their alumni & provide platforms for travel questions, personal development, & community connections in your own backyard! If you're a young person looking to travel I highly recommend U30X!
There are not enough ways for me to describe how amazing this company is. After my first trip I always told people, it wasn't about the location, but the experience that u30x gave me. I have some of the best experiences of my life with u30x, and now a passion for travel. Also, their alumni community and groups are awesome too!
Traveling with U30X has been life changing for me. I've made lifelong friends with both travelers and staff. I can't come up with enough good things to say about the company, the people, and the experiences I've had!
Just returned from my second trip with Under30Experiences. My first trip was to the Costa Rica rainforest. My most recent trip was to Iceland. Both trips were such an amazing experience. I loved learning about Iceland and its origins. I enjoy the small groups and I made some great new friends! Recommend them for anyone wanting to travel alone or with a couple of friends.
I was so scared to travel abroad alone and then I came across their website and they made international travel so easy! And the people I’ve met on the trips are some amazing individuals! I’ve done 6 of their trips and plan on continuing to do even more!!
My Hike the Inca Trail trip was beyond amazing, and I couldn't have asked for anything more from a trip. Our leaders made us all feel instantly comfortable, and the group was fantastic. The trip was well planned and the hike was unforgettable. Memories to last a lifetime.
