Yoga in Thailand

Day 1

Island of Koh Samui

Afternoon
  • Arrive to Samui International Airport (USM) before 3:00 pm.
  • Your Trip Leader will meet you at the Samui International Airport and after meeting all our new friends, we’ll take included transportation to our retreat center on the spectacular island of Koh Samui.
  • Recover and relax after a long flight at the accommodation or take a swim in the pool.
Evening:
  • Enjoy delicious local dishes at our opening dinner and get to know the other like-minded travelers on the trip and begin to settle into Thailand.

Day 2

Yoga in Paradise

Morning:
  • Wake up in Thailand to the sounds of the sea and begin with a gentle yoga practice followed by breakfast.
  • Learn about the basics of Buddhism and its influence on Thai culture at Wat Phra Yai (Big Buddha), a 12-meter seated Buddha statue.
  • Tour Wat Plai Laem, which features a striking white 18-arm image of Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion, to gain a better understanding of the mixture of Chinese-Thai beliefs.
Afternoon:
  • After visiting the temples, enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant before returning to the retreat center for some relaxation.
  • Honing your yoga skills, it’s time to test your flexibility with each pose as this afternoon the focus will be on correct form.
Evening:
  • Gather for dinner with other yogis for a buffet-style meal and share reflections on your first full day in Thailand.

Day 3

Mindfulness and Relaxation

Morning:
  • Rising with the sun, join in on a lighthearted yoga session overlooking the sea.
  • Walk down to the private beach, enjoy a drink at the juice bar and take a swim in the crystal clear waters.
  • Enjoy an included Thai massage at the retreat center.
Afternoon:
  • Settling in to the relaxed yogi lifestyle, begin a mindfulness session focused on vision boarding, storytelling or empowerment.
  • Twist, turn, stretch and breathe with a yoga class instruction from our certified yoga teacher.
Evening:
  • Savor up a mouthwatering meal at the cafe.
  • Participate in a sound therapy class with unique singing bowls played in synchronization as you lay down with your eye’s closed.

Day 4

Hin Lad Waterfall

Morning:
  • Continuing your morning yoga practices and healthy eating habits, you may soon discover transformative changes within yourself.
  • Take a 30-minute hike into the lush green jungles to the secluded haven of Hin Lad Waterfall.  
  • Swim, chill out and enjoy a picnic lunch in the peace and quiet of nature.
Afternoon:
  • Relax and unwind with mindfulness meditation in the natural wilderness, bringing attention to our internal experience, and focusing on things like the sensation of breathing and noticing our thoughts, perceptions or feelings.
  • Return to the retreat center for restorative candlelight yoga.
Evening:
  • After a day of adventure and exploration, fill up your appetite at the dinner buffet with your friends.

Day 5

Reflexology and Reflection

Morning:
  • After a good night’s rest, begin your morning with yoga, finding yourself going deeper into each pose.
  • Learn the basics of reflexology, an alternative medicine involving the application of pressure to the feet and hands with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques.
  • Take to the sea in an optional paddleboard activity and explore the barrier islands surrounding Koh Samui.
Afternoon:
  • Enjoy lunch of fresh local produce and organic foods.
Evening:
  • This evening you’ll have the option to explore one of the many night markets in Koh Samui for shopping and a taste of Thai street food.

Day 6

Yoga and Adventure

Morning/Afternoon:
  • Start your day with a rejuvenating yoga session and then enjoy a healthy brunch with freshly squeezed juice.
  • Choose from one of several optional activities including kayaking and snorkeling, or treat yourself to a range of comforting services at the local spa and at the retreat center.
Evening:
  • Discover the power of vibrations as you meditate to a large gong instrument playing varying levels of powerful sound waves.  

Day 7

Relaxation and Departure

Morning:
  • Enjoy a peaceful breakfast as you reflect upon your Thailand experience.
  • We look forward to welcoming you into our close-knit travel community.
  • Be sure your flight back home departs after 12:00 pm.
