Trip Overview

Day 1

Day 1: Arrival in Belize

Belize

Arrive at Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) by 1:00 pm and enjoy comfortable, safe, air-conditioned transportation through the city of Belize while you get to know other like-minded travelers.

Take a scenic water taxi from the main island to Caye Caulker as you gaze in awe at the surrounding beauty and crystal blue waters.

Arrive at your boutique hotel with ocean views and get settled in before enjoying your first meal on this Caribbean island with no cars that goes by the motto, "Go Slow."

**If your flight is delayed and you miss the shuttle* You are responsible for your own transportation.  Find a licensed taxi to drive you to the ferry dock and take your first ferry to Caye Caulker. In Belize, a GREEN license plate means the vehicle is a licensed taxi.  Expect a $25 taxi fare and $15 ferry.

**If your flight is delayed and you miss the 5:30PM Ferry* Please take the 8AM San Pedro Express Water Taxi from Belize City to Caye Caulker.  We suggest staying the night at the Radisson Fort George for a safe room close to the ferry.  For a more upscale resort the Radisson is an option.  Expect a ~$25USD taxi fare, $15 ferry and hotel stay.  Your travel insurance may reimburse you.

Day 2

Snorkeling Trip

After a delicious breakfast at a local cafe, travel by private boat to snorkel the world famous Hol Chan Marine Reserve, as well as the second largest barrier reef in the world.

Snorkel beneath the surface of the ocean and swim with a wide array of bright, tropical fish, mind-blowing coral formations, and maybe even massive manatees and sea turtles.

Enjoy lunch at sea as you gaze out at the crystal blue water and enjoy good conversation with your new friends.

Next, experience Shark and Ray Alley where you'll get the amazing (and safe) opportunity to swim with harmless sharks, stingrays, and other rich marine life.

Enjoy the scenic ride back to the island while you sip on rum punch, before enjoying dinner at a local restaurant in Caye Caulker.

*weather conditions may alter the day of these activities

Day 3

Cave Tubing on Sinbun River

After another delicious breakfast at a local restaurant, get ready to enter the exciting world of rivers disappearing into the underworld as you float on inner tubes with only your headlamp to light your way.

Your local guide will walk you down our jungle track, pointing out the various medicinal trees and other flora, before splashing into the cool, easy flowing waters of the Sinbun branch. (Lunch is included)

Back in Caye Caulker, relax in the turquoise water at The Split – the local swimming hole Caye Caulker is famous for – and play Bags right by the water with locals.

Then, enjoy another delicious dinner and maybe even try the Caribbean Jerk or one of the many hot sauces Belize if famous for.

Day 4

Explore Ambergris Caye

From our seaside cabanas, take the water taxi to the neighboring island of Ambergris Caye and explore the bustling town of San Pedro.

Rent bicycles or golf carts to roam the island's beaches, quirky Caribbean bars, great shopping, and local restaurants. Or, rent a jet ski and the locals might even take you to Leonardo Dicaprio's private island.

Another great option is to just relax & hang out on inner tubes floating on turquoise waters and soak it all in. This will be a time to truly connect with the small travel group who you have come to know over the past week in paradise.

Day 5

Depart for Tulum, Mexico

After enjoying a final breakfast on the island, take a scenic water taxi to Chetumal, Mexico where you will get stamped and board your included, safe, air-conditioned transportation to Tulum, Mexico.

Arrive at your boutique hotel in the center of Tulum away from other overbuilt resorts and in the heart of Mexican & Mayan culture just steps away from some of the best Mayan Ruins.

Catch your first Mexican sunset while enjoying a margarita and feel the vibe of Tulum as you savor a delicious Mexican meal right in town.

Day 6

Day 2: Punta Laguna Monkey Reserve & Coba Ruins

Today you'll take an action packed day-trip to the Coba Archaeological Site & Sanctuary and climb one of the tallest Mayan pyramids on the Yucatan Peninsula.

You will start the day by experiencing an authentic Mayan Ceremony performed by a local Shaman. Keep an eye out for monkeys and cougars!

Admire the spectacular views over the Yucatan jungle and then cross a Mayan Lagoon by canoe or zipline.

Finally, rappel down into an ancient cenote known and celebrated by Mayans as gates to the underworld.

Day 7

Tulum Ruins & Secret Cenotes

Wake up early and head to Tulum National Park to experience the world-famous Tulum Ruins, a key trade route for the Mayans.

Learn about the Mayan Gods and snap pictures of the palace that existed long before the Spanish arrived in the New World.

Swim in the turquoise blue ocean while you stare at ancient ruins – the only place in the world where this is possible.

In the afternoon, swim in beautiful sacred cenotes and discover a hidden underground world. Dive into underground caves and see what UNESCO calls some of the world's most important underwater heritage sites.

Day 8

2018: Explore Chichen Itza; 2019: Explore + Beach + Relaxation

**2018 Itinerary**

Chichen Itza was one of the largest Mayan cities and most mystical according to Mesoamerican literature.

The giant step pyramid called El Castillo is world-famous and is considered one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.

Take advantage of the natural wonder that surrounds us at this historical site.

Back in Tulum, go out for an amazing meal and dance to a variety of Mexican music to celebrate your final night with your new friends and fellow group of young travelers.

**Starting January 2019**

Today you get to create your own adventure. Explore Chichen-Itza - one of the largest and most mystical Mayan cities in history, go swimming at the Natural Reserve of the Sian Ka'an Biosphere, discover more cenotes, or just work on your tan relaxing at the beach.

Before heading back to Tulum, you might even have time to take a dip in another cenote.

That evening, go out for an amazing Mexican meal and dance to a variety of cultural music to celebrate your final night with your new friends.
