Trip Overview

Day 1

Arrival in Belize

Your journey begins in Belize City, where your Trip Leader will meet you at the airport.

From there, travel west to San Ignacio, a lively town surrounded by jungle and Mayan history. This welcoming hub in the Cayo District is the perfect place to begin exploring the country.

After settling into your boutique hotel, get to know your group and enjoy your first evening in Belize.

Day 2

Mayan Ruins and Waterfalls

Today venture into the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve, a protected area known for its rolling hills, pine forests, and rivers. Deep in the jungle lies Caracol, one of Belize’s most significant Mayan cities. Here explore towering stone structures, including Caana—the “Sky Place”—which remains the tallest manmade structure in the country.

In the afternoon, cool off at Big Rock Falls, a hidden waterfall with refreshing pools perfect for a swim. Surrounded by the sounds of nature, it’s an ideal spot to unwind before returning to San Ignacio for the night.

Day 3

Cave Tubing

The morning takes you underground for an unforgettable cave tubing experience on a branch of the Sibun River. Equipped with a headlamp, float through limestone caverns once considered sacred by the Mayans, while your guide points out jungle plants and wildlife along the way.

In the afternoon, trade the rainforest for the sea as you take a ferry to Caye Caulker, a small island known for its relaxed atmosphere and colorful Caribbean charm.

Caye Caulker invites you to slow down. After checking in, you’ll likely head to The Split, the island’s favorite swimming spot, to watch the sunset over turquoise waters.

Day 4

Snorkeling Trip

After breakfast, you’ll board a private boat for a full-day snorkeling excursion. Belize is home to the second-largest barrier reef in the world and the Hol Chan Marine Reserve. While in the water, you’ll see a kaleidoscope of tropical fish, coral formations, and, with some luck, manatees or sea turtles.

Later, you’ll stop at Shark and Ray Alley, where you can swim alongside harmless nurse sharks and stingrays in shallow, crystal-clear waters.

On the way back to the island, you’ll sip rum punch while enjoying the views before heading to dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 5

Caye Caulker

Embrace the island lifestyle. Today, you might choose to rent a bike and cruise along sandy streets, book a kayak to explore the shoreline, or simply relax on the beach with a good book. Some travelers opt for a massage by the water or a fresh fruit smoothie from a street vendor.

As evening falls, you’ll gather for one final Caribbean-style dinner before capping the night with live reggae or a laid-back beach bar.

Day 6

Relaxation & Departure

Wake up to the sea breeze and enjoy a quiet final morning on the Caye Caulker.

After breakfast, you’ll take the ferry back to Belize City, where private transportation will bring you to the airport for your flight home.

Though your adventure ends here, you’ll leave with lasting memories—and a new community of friends to stay connected with through the Under30Experiences alumni network.
