France: Food & Wine Tour Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Paris

We highly recommend booking pre-trip accommodations if you'd like to fully immerse yourself in Paris' vibrant atmosphere.

  • Arrive at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) by 9:00 am.
  • Your Trip Leader will meet you at the airport and after meeting all your new friends, you'll be take included transportation to our boutique hotel in the city center of Paris.
  • Go on a walking tour around the main attractions of Paris with your Trip Leader.
  • Choose among many optional activities for your afternoon.
    Suggestions: visit the Louvre Museum, the Eiffel Tower, Pompidou Centre, Orsay Museum, Gardens of Luxembourg.
  • Have dinner in a typical Parisian restaurant.
  • Enjoy an optional night out in Paris.

Day 2

Depart for Burgundy

  • Wake up in Paris and enjoy an authentic French breakfast.
  • Depart for Burgundy, the east-central region of France, internationally famous for its wine and gastronomy. (~4 hour drive)
  • Stop at one of the royal palaces of Fontainebleau.
  • Arrive at your new home in the French countryside in the late afternoon.
  • Spend the rest of the day relaxing in the gardens of the property and enjoying local wine.
  • Enjoy an authentic Burgundy dinner prepared by a French Chef.

Day 3

Wine & French Gastronomy

  • Wake up in Burgundy and enjoy an authentic French breakfast.
  • Travel to Beaune for an included wine tasting experience. Our favorite Frenchies, Nicole & Pierre, will teach you their passion for Burgundy wine!
  • Explore the streets of Beaune and opt for a visit of the Hospices de Beaune.
  • Later that afternoon, learn the art of French cooking and execute recipes using fresh ingredients with the help of a Chef.
  • Get your belly full of delicious French food prepared by yourself and your group!
  • Enjoy some more French wine from the comfort of your guest house.

Day 4

Burgundy Canal Adventure

  • After your day of delicious cheese and wine, it is time for some much needed outdoor activity!
  • Explore the Canal de Bourgogne on a bike or hike through the picturesque farmland of Burgundy.
  • Have lunch in a local and small restaurant owned by a non-profit organization supporting the local economy and local products.
  • Soak in the countryside in the late afternoon, relax on the grounds of our château and enjoy the French pace of life.
  • Go on an optional hike in the gardens or play pétanque.
  • Prepare dinner as a team and enjoy your last night in Burgundy!

Day 5

Return to Paris

  • After breakfast, leave the beautiful French countryside and head back to Paris, The City of Lights! (~4 hour drive)
  • Learn about natural wine and have more French food. (It's a food & wine tour after all!)
  • In the afternoon you'll have extra time to visit more of Paris.
  • Have one last dinner in the French capital with your group.
  • Enjoy a walk on the Seine river and take the best shots of the Eiffel Tower sparkling at night.
  • During the Summertime, the St Bernard quay near Notre Dame Cathedral turns into a dance floor where everybody can go and dance for free.

Day 6

Relaxation & Departure

  • Wake up and have a relaxing morning in Paris.
  • Say goodbye to your fellow group travelers and depart at any time of the day with the help of your Trip Leaders on how to take taxis, busses, or even Uber to the airport. (transportation not included).
  • Ask your Trip Leader for suggestions on what to do if you chose to spend more time in beautiful Paris.

Just returned from my second trip with Under30Experiences. My first trip was to the Costa Rica rainforest. My most recent trip was to Iceland. Both trips were such an amazing experience. I loved learning about Iceland and its origins. I enjoy the small groups and I made some great new friends! Recommend them for anyone wanting to travel alone or with a couple of friends.

I was so scared to travel abroad alone and then I came across their website and they made international travel so easy! And the people I’ve met on the trips are some amazing individuals! I’ve done 6 of their trips and plan on continuing to do even more!!

My Hike the Inca Trail trip was beyond amazing, and I couldn't have asked for anything more from a trip. Our leaders made us all feel instantly comfortable, and the group was fantastic. The trip was well planned and the hike was unforgettable. Memories to last a lifetime.
