Trip Overview

Day 1

Cusco, The Capital of the Incan Empire

Arrive in Cusco (CUZ) before 12:00 PM and take the included transportation to our boutique hotel.

Get to know your new friends as you begin to acclimate at 11,200 feet and take it easy exploring the historic center of Cusco.

See Cusco's incredible Plaza de Armas and Spanish Cathedrals at night and feel like you've gone back in time.

Day 2

Cultural Immersion

Depart Cusco for the Sacred Valley to a small indigenous village near Chinchero and participate in a community outreach project exclusive to Under30Experiences travelers.

Learn how the native Quechua live in the Andes and understand their spiritual connection to Pachamama or Mother Earth. This is an incredible cultural exchange with textile weavers and subsistence farmers who still embrace their traditional language and dress.

Continue along the Urubamba River to the town of Ollantaytambo where you'll catch the train to Aguas Calientes at the base of Machu Picchu.

Day 3

Machu Picchu

Wake up early and take the winding bus ride up the mountain from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu.

"The Lost City of the Incas" will take your breath away as you weave through the paths and tour this archeological site.

Explore Machu Picchu with a local guide who will explain the history of this ancient Inca citadel. After your llama selfie, enjoy one of the most beautiful train rides on the planet back to Cusco and reflect on the beauty of what you just experienced.

If you'd prefer a 4 day, 3 night trek, you should consider our trip hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.

Day 4

Explore Historical Cusco

Cusco is the center of Quechua culture and the capital of the former Inca Empire. Walking the narrow pedestrian streets you can see the layers of history come alive--Spanish Cathedrals are literally built on-top of Inca Temples.

Take in the vibrant colors at the artisanal market and find alpaca wool sweaters for friends back home.

Explore Peru's famed gastronomy and see why chefs around the world decide to collaborate in Cusco. Try local delicacies like alpaca, or cuy guinea pig, washed down with a pisco sour.

Ask your Trip Leader if you are interested in the option of entering famous sites like Saksaywaman, Coricancha, or the Inca Museum.

Day 5

Rainbow Mountain

Climb even higher into the Andes for a colorful adventure that is both challenging and rewarding.  Don't forget your coca leaves as you hike above 16,000 feet and earn stunning views of Vinicunca-- the famous Rainbow Mountain.

Under30Experiences is proud to be one of the first group travel companies to visit the Rainbow Mountains of Peru.

Once you've taken in the vibrant mountainside, head back and take one last stroll through Cusco before our final dinner in Plaza de Armas.

Day 6

Relaxation & Departure

Have one last breakfast as a group before saying adios to the amazing new travel buddies you've made in Cusco.

Feel free to stay and explore more of the Andes or take the provided transportation back to the Cusco airport. As our Under30Experiences trip comes to a close, we hope you keep in touch with our awesome community.

Machu Picchu & Peru Trip Reviews

"I just got back from a week in Peru, on the Peru & Machu Picchu trip. It was one of the best trips I've ever been on! Our guide Ruty was so friendly and knowledgeable, and she made the tour really interesting. You could see her passion for Peru and its history, and I learned so much! Every activity was well-planned and worthwhile. I was nervous to go on this trip without anyone I knew, but the other Under30 travelers ended up being a highlight of the trip. So fun getting to know other young professionals who love to travel as much as I do! Absolutely loved everything about this trip, and would highly recommend it to anyone considering. I will definitely book a trip with Under30Experiences again." -Mandy S.

"I recently returned from Peru with this group, an amazing way to travel! I have been on a few trips with U30x and each one has been great! They do a great job scheduling the week and giving you a feel for the culture where you are visiting. Each trip has exceeded my expectations and it's great to see how people can connect in such a short time." -Kristine M.

"BEST WEEK EVER! I just arrived back to the states from a week in Peru and I miss my U30X familia already!!! Our leader, Roland, was absolutely incredible. He went above and beyond to make sure the entire group was taken care of. From lost passports to cancelled flights he was there to guide us through any situation with a smile. My birthday fell during the trip and Roland coordinated a celebration I will never forget. There was balloons, dancing, cake and a card signed by the entire group. There are no words to describe how much that meant to me and how special the entire group made me feel. You are missing out on an incredible experience if you do not travel with U30X. Roland and the rest of the group will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for the memories, U30X!!!" -Lauren B.
