Trip Overview

Day 1

Cusco, The Capital of the Incan Empire

Arrive in Cusco (CUZ) before 12:00 PM and take the included transportation to our boutique hotel.

Get to know your new friends as you begin to acclimate at 11,200 feet and take it easy as you explore the Historic center of Cusco.

See Cusco's incredible Plaza de Armas at night and feel like you've gone back in time.

Day 2

Cultural Immersion

Drive to the upper part of the Sacred Valley as we visit a small indigenous community in Chinchero.

Learn how the Quechua people live in the Andes and see firsthand what their spiritual connection to earth & each other means to them.

You'll get to participate in traditions that have been passed down for thousands of years during this community outreach project we've developed with the locals exclusively for Under30Experiences.

From there, drive through the Sacred Valley and see the Urubamba River as you head to the town of Ollantaytambo where you'll catch the train to Aguas Calientes at the base of Machu Picchu. Alternatively, you could also take the sacred Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu.

Day 3

Machu Picchu

Wake up early and catch the bus from Aguas Calientes up to the winding road to Machu Picchu.

"The Lost City of the Incas" will take your breath away as you weave through the paths and tour this preserved piece of history.

Explore Machu Picchu with a local guide who will explain the history and magic of this site. After trying to get a selfie with a llama, take the train and bus back to Cusco and reflect on the beauty of what you just experienced.

Day 4

Explore Historical Cusco

Cusco represents the center of the Quechua culture in the Andes and just by walking the streets you can see the layers of history come alive.

We'll explore the Capital of the Incas like a local as we head up to the famous Christo Blanco to find the most beautiful views of the city.

Wander through the artisanal market to find beautiful multi-colored alpaca wool sweaters for friends back home. At night, enjoy the local fare as we have dinner in Cusco's, "Plaza de Armas."

Day 5

Rainbow Mountain

Today you'll journey southeast of Cusco and climb even higher into the Andes for a colorful adventure that is both challenging and rewarding.

Don't forget your coca leaves as you hike up to above 16,000 feet and earn yourself some stunning views of Vinicunca: the famous Rainbow Mountain.

Once you've taken in the vibrant mountainside, head back to Cusco where you'll have some time to relax and take one last stroll around town before we get together for our final dinner together.

Day 6

Relaxation & Departure

Today is our last breakfast together before heading back or continuing your adventure.

Say goodbye to the amazing new travel buddies you've made and adios to beautiful Cusco.

Feel free to stay and explore more of the Andes or take the provided transportation back to the Cusco airport.

Machu Picchu & Peru Trip Reviews

"I just got back from a week in Peru, on the Peru & Machu Picchu trip. It was one of the best trips I've ever been on! Our guide Ruty was so friendly and knowledgeable, and she made the tour really interesting. You could see her passion for Peru and its history, and I learned so much! Every activity was well-planned and worthwhile. I was nervous to go on this trip without anyone I knew, but the other Under30 travelers ended up being a highlight of the trip. So fun getting to know other young professionals who love to travel as much as I do! Absolutely loved everything about this trip, and would highly recommend it to anyone considering. I will definitely book a trip with Under30Experiences again." -Mandy S.

"I recently returned from Peru with this group, an amazing way to travel! I have been on a few trips with U30x and each one has been great! They do a great job scheduling the week and giving you a feel for the culture where you are visiting. Each trip has exceeded my expectations and it's great to see how people can connect in such a short time." -Kristine M.

"BEST WEEK EVER! I just arrived back to the states from a week in Peru and I miss my U30X familia already!!! Our leader, Roland, was absolutely incredible. He went above and beyond to make sure the entire group was taken care of. From lost passports to cancelled flights he was there to guide us through any situation with a smile. My birthday fell during the trip and Roland coordinated a celebration I will never forget. There was balloons, dancing, cake and a card signed by the entire group. There are no words to describe how much that meant to me and how special the entire group made me feel. You are missing out on an incredible experience if you do not travel with U30X. Roland and the rest of the group will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for the memories, U30X!!!" -Lauren B.
