Passports and Visas (Guidelines for US passport holders)
The Inca Trail is only open during the dry season as trail conditions are unsafe during the rainy season.
Between April and September, the average highs are around 70 Fahrenheit while average lows can drop to the upper 30s Fahrenheit at night. There’s a big temperature swing so make sure to have plenty of layers.
Machu Picchu is located in the cloud forest. Even in the dry season, don’t be surprised to encounter clouds and maybe some rain.
If you extend your visit in Peru, one of our staff members can suggest to some optional activities and help arrange them for you.
Illegal drugs or any illegal activity will not be tolerated on the trip. Possessing or using drugs puts the rest of the group at risk. Our trip leaders have the right to expel any member of the group if drugs are found in their possession or any other illegal activity like prostitution.
