Italy Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Benvenuti in Italia!

We highly recommend booking pre-trip accommodations if you'd like to arrive early and fully immerse yourself in Rome's vibrant atmosphere.

  • Meet at Rome Fiumicino International Airport (FCO) at 2:00 PM.
  • Your Trip Leader will meet you and your new friends at the airport, and take included transportation to our boutique accommodations in Rome.
  • Head out with your guide for a food expedition through the historical city center of Rome. Along this journey, you will be stopping at local eateries tasting some of the finest foods Rome has to offer.
  • Walk past the Pantheon, enjoy people-watching in Navona Square, and learn about the history of the Jewish Ghetto.
  • After the culinary tour, keep exploring the city at night as you familiarize yourself with Italy!

Day 2

Marmore Waterfalls

  • Wake up in Rome and enjoy a delicious breakfast with your new friends.
  • Take included transportation to Marmore Waterfalls (~2-hour drive).
  • The Marmore Waterfalls are Europe’s highest man-made waterfalls built by the Romans in 271 BC!
  • Explore this beautiful place, enjoying some great views of the waterfalls as you trek to "Balcone degli Innamorati" (Balcony of the Lovers).
  • Continue the drive to your agriturismo farmstay in the Umbrian countryside (~1.5 hours drive).
  • Explore the variety of gardens on this sustainable farm including fruit trees and an olive grove.
  • Enjoy an authentic dinner made with locally sourced products from the region.
  • Be sure to taste some of the delicious local Italian wine.

Day 3

Umbrian Farmstay

  • Wake up in the Umbrian countryside and start your day right with a typical Italian breakfast.
  • Experience Bevagna' on a guided walking tour and join a class at a medieval workshop to learn traditional artisian craftmanship.
  • Have lunch at a local winery and have the opportunity to taste a few of the vineyard's wines.
  • Gather with your friends for a hands-on cooking class where you will learn the secrets of cooking authentic Italian dishes.
  • Relax on the farm for the evening and take the opportunity to reflect on this peaceful day spent in the countryside.

Day 4



  • Enjoy one final morning of locally sourced breakfast items on the farmstay.
  • Drive to the city of Perugia, the capital of the Umbria region. (~1.5 hours drive)
  • Have some free time to explore this city and perhaps taste some of the chocolate that has become popular to this region.
  • Continue driving to the cultural city of Florence (~1.5 hours drive).


  • Arrive to Florence by mid-afternoon and have some free time to explore the city.   
  • Florence is home to many reputable museums, art galleries, and restaurants. Be sure to ask your Trip Leader for recommendations.


  • Gather with your new friends at the Piazzale Michelangelo to watch the sunset over the city before heading out for dinner at a restaurant of your choosing.  
  • Tonight’s dinner is not included so you can explore Tuscan gastronomy on your own. Your Trip Leader will be able to recommend some top eateries worth checking out.

Day 5

Explore Florence


  • Wake up in Florence and enjoy breakfast at your hotel.
  • Head out with a local guide to learn about the history and architecture of Florence on a guided walking tour.  
  • Site visits may include the Piazza della Signoria with the town hall Palazzo Vecchio, the Duomo, the Baptistery with its ‘Doors of Paradise’, Giotto’s Bell Tower, Brunelleschi’s Dome, Santa Trinita, and Orsanmichele Church.
  • Walk across the Arno River on Ponte Vecchio and explore the secret Vasari Corridor, as well as Florence’s famous shopping streets.


  • This afternoon is free at leisure with a chance to create your own experience. A few optional activities include an espresso making class at the Espresso Academy or discovering the unique neighborhoods of Florence on a Aperitivo Time Tour.
  • Opt to visit Galleria dell'Accademia, the home of Michelangelo's world-famous statue of David, or the 374-foot tall Florence Cathedral. 


  • Explore the nightlife of Florence and choose from several restaurants as tonight’s dinner is not included.  
  • We recommend visiting the Piazza della Signoria, a great place to interact with locals in the evening.

Day 6

Countryside cycling in Lucca

  • After breakfast, take an included train ride out to the small town of Lucca, one of Tuscany’s hidden gems. (~1.5 hours train ride)
  • Explore the town’s narrow streets filled with century-old buildings and charming churches.
  • Join a cycling tour following the scenic Serchio River through the Tuscan countryside. Expect the terrain to be mostly flat with a mixture of city roads and gravel pathways. (~1.5+ hours bike tour)
  • Return to Florence via train and rest up at the hotel.
  • Gather together with the group for a final farewell dinner and explore more of the city under the lights.

Day 7

Arrivederci Italia!


  • Enjoy breakfast in the city of Florence and relax on your final morning together in Italy.
  • Say arrivederci to your new friends and make plans to meet up in the future.
  • You may depart at anytime on this day.
  • Be sure to get instructions from your Trip Leader about how to take a bus, taxi, or other local transportation to the airport or train station.
  • Ask your Trip Leaders for suggestions if you chose to spend more time in Florence or around Europe.

Just returned from my second trip with Under30Experiences. My first trip was to the Costa Rica rainforest. My most recent trip was to Iceland. Both trips were such an amazing experience. I was so scared to travel abroad alone and then I came across their website and they made international travel so easy! And the people I’ve met on the trips are some amazing individuals! I’ve done 6 of their trips and plan on continuing to do even more!!

My Hike the Inca Trail trip was beyond amazing, and I couldn't have asked for anything more from a trip. Our leaders made us all feel instantly comfortable, and the group was fantastic. The trip was well planned and the hike was unforgettable. Memories to last a lifetime.
