Arrive in the capital city of the Incan Empire.
Cusco is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and we will begin to acclimate to the change in altitude as we explore this amazing city.
Experience incredible views in the heart of Incan civilization during our walking tour.
Have the option to try traditional Peruvian style delicacies such as alpaca, guinea pig, or ceviche before our hike.
In the morning drive through the Sacred Valley along the Urubamba River on our way to visit a small indigenous community near Chinchero.
Learn how the Quechua people live on a sustainable reserve in the Andes and what their spiritual connection to the earth means to them during our community outreach project. Today is guaranteed to be a highlight of your trip.

Stay the night in the village of Ollantaytambo, one of the Inca's most important fortresses.
Wake up in Peru's beautiful Sacred Valley and discover the wonders of Ollantaytambo.
Take a quick walk to the train station in Ollantaytambo, then step back in time as you stroll through the cobble stoned streets of this remarkably well-preserved Incan town.
If you're feeling up for it, you can take an included hike to Pinkuylluna Mountain with your Trip Leader.

After a night in Aguas Calientes, at the base of Machu Picchu, enjoy a guided tour of the ancient archeological site.
You'll have plenty of time to explore one of the New Seven Wonders of the World at your leisure.
In the afternoon, we will make our way back to Cusco via train and bus as we head towards the Amazon.
After a long day exploring Machu Picchu and today will be your free time to relax and enjoy the beautiful city of Cusco.
Snap photos in front of one of Cusco's many cathedrals, the Incan citadel of Qorikancha or visit the pre-Incan site of Saksaywaman.
Enjoy a coca tea after shopping in the historic Plaza de Armas and try the wide variety of gastronomic specialities Cusco has to offer.
Depart Cusco and catch a short included flight to Puerto Maldonado for our jungle experience.
Board the motorized canoe and take a one-hour boat ride to our eco-lodge through the Amazon Basin.
Look for parrots, macaws, caiman, giant otters, and howler monkeys as you cruise down the Tambopata and Madre de Dios Rivers. You may even spot a jaguar!
Wake up in the rainforest to the sounds of parrots and explore Oxbow Lake. Learn about Amazonian flora and take a walk through this incredible jungle.
This evening, explore the nocturnal wonders of the rainforest and look for snakes, night monkeys, and frogs.
Stay in a world renown, sustainable eco-lodge on the banks of this branch of the Amazon River.
Enjoy a final breakfast and say goodbye to the Amazon & our eco-lodge in Puerto Maldonado before taking your included transportation back to the airport.

"I did the June trip to Peru including Machu Picchu in early June. I travel pretty frequently but I have to say it was one of the best trips I have ever been on in my life. Admittedly I am not under 30, but I was able to fit right in with the rest of the group. We did a great city tour (Cusco), a trip to a local farm, a gorgeous day at Machu Picchu and a hike to the rainbow mountains. Our tour guide, Ruty, made the trip more special than I ever thought possible. She really cared about teaching us local customs and it was great never having to think about what we were doing next since it was all planned out for us.
