Why Burgundy?

Burgundy is the main wine producing area in France and is well known for its famous dishes like Beef Bourguignon and Coq au vin.

Until 1477, Burgundy was home to the Dukes of France and is now a strong cultural site full historical monuments and castles.

Understand the beauty and culture of this region of France and of course indulge in the world famous wine and cheese.

Day 1: Arrival & Palace of Versailles

Arrive at Paris International Airport (CDG) by 10 AM and be shuttled directly to the Palace of Versailles to stroll the gardens.

Breathe in the beauty of King Louis XIV's royal château that started as a hunting lodge in the year 1623.

Arrive at Chateau de Barbirey, our private estate in the heart of French wine country where we will call home for the week.

Day 2: French Gastronomy

Wake up in the French countryside and enjoy your coffee, pastries, and croissants straight from the boulangerie.

Get ready for a day of tasting wine at vineyards that have been family owned for generations and become fully immersed in French culture.

Tonight prepare dinner as a group with a French chef from the region during our guided cooking class.

Day 3: Cultural Day in Beaune

Visit Beaune, the capital of Burgundy wine country, surrounded by the world famous Côte d'Or Vineyards.

Spend the morning exploring the castles of one of the most beautiful villages of France. Spend the afternoon visiting Beaune, the capital of Burgundy wine country, surrounded by the world famous Côte d'Or Vineyards.

Have the option to visit the Hospices of Beaune, a former almshouse founded in 1443. This is also a great time to do your wine and cheese shopping or visit another wine cellar.

Day 4: Adventure Day

After your day of delicious cheese and Burgundy wine, it is time to for some much needed outdoor activity!

Depart in the morning for a biking tour along the canal de Bourgogne and admire the picturesque farmland of Burgundy.

Have lunch by the canal, try escargots and have a glass of "kir", the traditional drink of the region.

Spend the afternoon hiking, playing pétanque or relaxing.

Day 5: Explore Dijon

Climb the 316 steps of the tower of Philippe Le Bon and enjoy an incredible view of the city and its surroundings.

Eat lunch in a bistro or brasserie in the bustling city center and enjoy the quaint shops throughout Old City.

That afternoon soak in the beauty at the amazing Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy built during the 14th century.

Day 6: Depart to Paris

Enjoy a final breakfast and Ssay merci to your hosts in the French countryside.

Say goodbye to your new friends and make sure to keep in touch with the Under30Experiences community at home as we hold meetups for alumni in over 25 cities.

Be shuttled back to Paris International Airport for your flights departing after 3 PM unless you wish to spend extra time in Paris.
