Have a question about the Under30Experiences Scotland & London trip?

What are the accommodations like?

You will stay in small, family-run guesthouses and boutique hotels that are almost all centrally located in each town or city we visit.

Accommodations will be on a twin and/or multi share basis and all have private bathrooms. Solo travelers will be paired with someone of the same gender.

You can request a friend to be your roommate upon checkout.

If you'd prefer not to have a roommate, private room options are available upon request, subject to hotel availability for an extra charge.  Please contact bookings@under30experiences.com for more details.

What type of food will we be eating?

The majority of restaurants will offer traditional lamb, chicken, haggis, fish, shellfish, and potatoes.

All the included dinners have been tested by our team and offer fresh and local products.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

If you have any diet restrictions or allergies, we’ll do our best to arrange a special menu for you as we want everyone to be well-fed!

Vegetarianism is pretty common in the United Kingdom. You will be able to find vegetarian options in pretty much all the restaurants across Scotland and England.

Those who are vegan or on gluten-free diets may find food offerings challenging. We recommend you bring your own snacks from supermarkets or markets.

How difficult are the hikes in Scotland?

The Steall Falls is a beautiful and easy walk in Glen Nevis. Good footwear is highly recommended! The hike takes about 3 hours and is 3 miles / 5 km long.

The Lost Valley hike is a more challenging hike but very rewarding! The terrain is rocky and pretty steep. Good footwear and an active lifestyle is recommended.

Both hikes are lead by certified mountain guides.

How much time do we spend in Edinburgh & London?

You will enjoy free time in Edinburgh on Day 4 and Day 5 where you’ll be able to visit as many attractions as you want.

You will have free time in London on Day 6. Your Trip Leader will provide you with recommendations to explore this historic city in the best way.

If you’d like to enjoy as much of London as possible, we recommend that you extend your trip.

What type of luggage is best?

The lighter the better! If you only have a rolling suitcase that will work, but if you can get your hands on a more mobile bag, like a large backpack, that would be better. We take all forms of transportation and some guesthouses and hotels don’t have elevators.

You'll also want a daypack for your personal gear, food, and drinks for the day.

Can I opt out of an included activity?

Of course! This trip is your trip, and you don’t have to participate in anything you don’t want to. Just be aware that opting out of included activities will not change the price of your trip.

If you can’t or don’t want to ride a bike you can opt for a walking tour instead.

What do I need to pack?

It is important is to have a waterproof jacket and comfortable sneakers to walk in. You may bring a small hairdryer as well, but you’ll be able to ask for one in the guesthouse or hotel. Check out our full packing list here.

Is laundry available?

Laundry might be available in some hotels for an additional fee (ask your Trip Leader for details). Your Trip Leader can also show you the closest laundromats in all the places we visit.

Can we use our credit cards in Scotland & London?

Credit cards are widely accepted by stores, hotels and restaurants. However, smaller cafes and shops may not accept credit cards so make sure you carry enough cash to cover small purchases. Please let your bank know you’re traveling overseas.

Can I drink the water in the United Kingdom?

Drinking tap water is considered safe, unless otherwise marked. For environmental reasons, we recommend you use a refillable water bottle rather than buying bottled water.

U30X is such an amazing travel community. Once your trip is over, the experience is not. They keep in touch with their alumni & provide platforms for travel questions, personal development, & community connections in your own backyard! If you're a young person looking to travel I highly recommend U30X!

There are not enough ways for me to describe how amazing this company is. After my first trip I always told people, it wasn't about the location, but the experience that u30x gave me. I have some of the best experiences of my life with u30x, and now a passion for travel. Also, their alumni community and groups are awesome too!

Traveling with U30X has been life changing for me. I've made lifelong friends with both travelers and staff. I can't come up with enough good things to say about the company, the people, and the experiences I've had!

Just returned from my second trip with Under30Experiences. My first trip was to the Costa Rica rainforest. My most recent trip was to Iceland. Both trips were such an amazing experience. I loved learning about Iceland and its origins. I enjoy the small groups and I made some great new friends! Recommend them for anyone wanting to travel alone or with a couple of friends.

I was so scared to travel abroad alone and then I came across their website and they made international travel so easy! And the people I’ve met on the trips are some amazing individuals! I’ve done 6 of their trips and plan on continuing to do even more!!

My Hike the Inca Trail trip was beyond amazing, and I couldn't have asked for anything more from a trip. Our leaders made us all feel instantly comfortable, and the group was fantastic. The trip was well planned and the hike was unforgettable. Memories to last a lifetime.
