Day 1: Madrid

Bienvenidos a España! Arrive at Madrid International Airport (MAD) by 10:00am.

Start exploring Spain’s vibrant capital renowned for its movida counter-culture.  Walk through neighborhoods like Malasaña or La Latina full of cozy cafes, alternative shops and excellent tapas bars.

Reach the heart of the city at Puerta del Sol and take a charming walk through Retiro Park, one of the largest and most beautiful parks in Madrid.

Enjoy a local tapas dinner with your new friends and spend the night relaxing or experiencing the famous Spanish nightlife.

Day 2: Depart for Seville

Say goodbye to Madrid and take the high-speed train to Seville, the capital of southern Spain’s Andalusia region.

Spend the day getting lost in the maze of iconic alleyways around the old Jewish Quarter.

Visit the Tomb of Christopher Columbus or climb the Giralda Bell Tower, originally constructed as a mosque in 1184 and then later taken by the Christians.

Join a flamenco dinner show and understand how this dance became a folk music tradition of Southern Spain.

Day 3: Discovery of the New World Walking Tour

Wake up in Seville and start your day with a guided walking tour to discover the history and culture of this magical city.

Explore the streets of Seville, the Palace of Alcazar and the Golden Tower with your guide and understand the beautiful region of Andalusia.

Spend the afternoon at Plaza de Espana, one of the most stunning squares in the world.

Discover the famous cuisine of the area by trying Sevillian olives, gazpacho, ham, and sangria.

Day 4: Explore Cadiz

Spend the day in Cadiz also known as the City of Lights thanks to its many hours of sunlight!

Cadiz is a historically significant port that connected to the New World after the decline of Seville. It is also where the new Spanish Constitution was signed after the end of the Franco dictatorship.

Chill out at La Caleta Beach or explore the colonial heart of Cadiz.

Enjoy local food and fresh fish at one of the many local taverns before returning to Seville.

Day 5: Depart to Granada

Continue your journey through time by going straight to Granada, which was once a Moorish Muslim territory.

Spend the afternoon exploring Granada and do optional activities like visit the Cathedral, see Plaza Nueva, visit Carrera del Darro, & more.

Or look up at the stunning architecture of the historic Alhambra Arab Palace you will explore tomorrow.

Dinner is served very late in Spanish culture, so enjoy a “marienda”, the traditional afternoon snack, usually consisting of delicious local pastries.

Day 6: Explore Alhambra Palace

Immerse yourself in an immense palace and fortress that’s now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Reach the top of the old tower for a stunning view of the city and the snow capped Sierra Nevada Mountains of Spain.

Later, wander the magnificent old palace rich of art, crafts, and stunning architecture.

Spend the afternoon sitting outside enjoying coffee or Spanish wine with your new friends.

Day 7: Arrival in Barcelona

Take an early flight from Granada to Barcelona (included in your trip) and arrive in Barcelona ready to see this dynamic metropolis.

Spend the afternoon exploring Barcelona and its Gothic architecture. Don’t miss the incredible Sagrada Familia Basilica, designed by the world famous Antoni Gaudí.  

Understand a completely different part of Spain as the region of Catalonia has their own language and culture.

Enjoy Catalan cuisine and the non-stop nightlife that will make your stay in Barcelona unforgettable.

Day 8: Relaxation & Departure

On the final day of our adventure, wake up early to soak in the last morning in Europe together.

Say goodbye to your new friends and depart at any time of the day with instructions from your trip leaders on how to take taxis, buses, or local transportation to the airport.

Be sure to ask your trip leaders for suggestions on what to do if you chose to spend more time in Barcelona.
