I am originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, and although I hope to always call it home, my fondest memories are around campfires in the woods and exploring cities in distant lands. I have been an avid traveler from a young age, and am aiming to never stop. I am passionate about living a life that can inspire others to follow their passions and find their joys and rewards—despite their responsibilities. While I am building a career in program management at a large institution, I am sure to continue to enjoy my passions of hiking, Giants baseball, and pole fitness.
Traveling to Costa Rica with U30x was the best decision I ever made. I was in a bit of a rut for various reasons, and needed to reset my perspective—I really couldn’t have asked for a more positive and interesting way to do it! I don’t think anything could have worked better than zip lining through the rainforest and living at a truly sustainable ranch for a week. The people who choose to join this community are a special type, an open minded and diverse group.
I caught the travel bug at a very at six months old and have hit up 28 countries so far. I’ve lived most of my life in Pacifica, California, but spent some time in Peru, on a cruise ship traveling around the Mediterranean and deep in the heart of Texas. Travel for me is ultimate way of connecting with the world we live in and the people of the world.
Bali is where I met the Under30Experiences crew and I am forever in debt for the awe ha moment I had on that first trip with them. Since then I have made life long friends and traveled back to Peru with them. I have been a CM in San Antonio, TX and am now back in my old stomping grounds spreading the U30X love in San Francisco. Cheers to many more amazing adventures.
I run San Francisco Admissions and Community for the co-living startup Common. I'm also the Founder of Diversability, a social enterprise to rebrand disability through the power of community. I'm a recent transplant to San Francisco by way of New York City, which I had called home for the past 6+ years.
When the dates went live for the Starter Costa Rica trip for March 2015, I booked it. I didn't know that much about U30X at the time, but knew that I was long overdue for an adventure. A friend of mine from a study abroad experience years back had been on one of the trips and couldn't stop raving about it. I was nervous about not knowing anyone else going on the trip, but ended up loving it because there were no expectations of who I "should" be -- I could just be myself. Later that year, I went on the Starter Tulum trip. Both adventures have been life-changing experiences for me where I have been able to stretch the boundaries of my comfort zone. I'm looking forward to my next trip in 2017, hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
