Afternoon

• Be ready to begin your trip at Cairo International Airport (CAI) at 3:00 p.m.
• Your Trip Leader will meet you at the airport, and you will take included transportation to your hotel located in Cairo.
• Settle into your accommodations, attend our welcome meeting, and then head out with your new friends to explore the capital city of Cairo.

Evening

• Go on a guided walk through the incredible Bazaar of Khan el-Khalili. Meander the same alleyways merchants have been trading on since the 14th century.
• Walk along El Moez Street, which the United Nations said is home to the greatest concentration of medieval architecture in the Islamic world.
• Enjoy Egypt’s most famous meal, koshary. This national dish is a mixture of rice, lentils, tomato sauce, and garlic sauce.
• Sleep well on your first night in Cairo.

Morning

• Wake to your first morning in Egypt. A buffet-style breakfast will be served at your hotel.
• After breakfast, visit one of the wonders of the ancient world-–The Pyramids of Giza!

Afternoon

• For today’s included lunch, you will have the option of either a shawarma or falafel sandwich. The lunch will be picked up at a local restaurant and be served to-go.
• Visit the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), where your guide will take you through the exhibit halls, providing details on the astonishing collections of antiques and treasures.
• Return to the hotel in Cairo to relax or explore more of the city.

Evening:

• Dinner tonight is not included, but your Trip Leader will provide recommendations on where to eat and what to do.
• Enjoy one last evening in Cairo. Opt to explore more night markets or perhaps join a Nile River cruise.

Morning:

• Fly on an included domestic flight to Egypt's southernmost city of Aswan.
• Check off a bucket list item and kayak along the Nile River. Take in the scenery and observe the diversity of birds that have made the islands their home. (1 hour of kayaking)
• You will have the option to visit Philae Temple during our kayaking activity. Temple entry fees are at your own expense.

Afternoon

• Back ashore, join your Trip Leader for a walk through the local markets as you orient yourself to the streets of Aswan.
• Lunch is not included, but your Trip Leader will recommend where to eat.
• Check into your hotel in Aswan situated on the banks of the Nile River. Unwind and enjoy some free time. If you want to keep exploring, stroll through the bazaars and souks or visit the Nubian Museum to learn more about the original inhabitants of this region.

Evening

• Cross the Nile to the west bank to visit a Nubian village and experience a subculture different from the rest of Egypt. 
• Tonight, you will be invited into a local home to enjoy an authentic Nubian meal cooked by a host family. Listen to stories and perhaps join in on some Nubian dancing.
• After your Nubian village experience, return to your Aswan hotel and get some rest for tomorrow’s early start.

Morning / Afternoon

• This morning’s breakfast will be served at the hotel.
• After breakfast, it’s time to board your private felucca for an experience of a lifetime.
• Spend the day watching rural Egyptian life go by on the riverbanks.
• Your Nubian sailing crew will cook healthy, vegetarian meals aboard the boat.

Evening

• Watch the sunset along the Nile, then lay back and enjoy an incredible sky full of stars.
• Tonight, you will sleep out on the open deck of the felucca underneath the night sky. You will be given a sleeping mat, blankets, and a pillow. You will also have the option to set up a mosquito net.

2027 Itinerary for Day 5:

Luxor and Karnak Temple

Morning

• Enjoy breakfast at your accommodation in Aswan.
• Travel to Luxor, built on the site of ancient Thebes, the pharaoh's capital, at the height of their power. (~4.5 hour drive)

Afternoon

• Visit the spectacular temple complex of Karnak, one of the world’s largest religious complexes ever constructed.
• Experience the Temple of Amun-Ra, considered to be where this chief of Egyptian gods lived on earth with his wife, Mut, and son, Khonsu.
• After visiting Karnak complex, you have a short drive to your accommodation in Luxor. Expect to arrive at the hotel around 4:00 pm.

Evening

• Enjoy an included dinner on your first night in Luxor and a local restaurant selected by your Trip Leader.
• Opt to visit Luxor Temple under the lights, walk along the scenic Sharia al-Corniche waterfront promenade, or enjoy a drink at the Royal Bar at the Old Winter Palace.

Morning

• Rise early to catch the sunrise aboard the felucca. Breakfast will be served by your Nubian sailing crew aboard your boat.
• Say goodbye to the boat and crew and drive to Luxor, built on the site of ancient Thebes, the pharaoh's capital, at the height of their power. (~3.5 hour drive)

Afternoon

• Visit the spectacular temple complex of Karnak, one of the world’s largest religious complexes ever constructed.
• Experience the Temple of Amun-Ra, considered to be where this chief of Egyptian gods lived on earth with his wife, Mut, and son, Khonsu.
• After visiting Karnak complex, you have a short drive to your accommodation in Luxor. Expect to arrive at the hotel around 3:00 pm.

2027 Itinerary for Day 6:

Valley of the Kings

Morning

• Join your friends for a breakfast buffet served at your hotel in Luxor.
• Take a ferry across the Nile to the west bank. Stop and admire Colossi of Memnon, commonly called the Guardians of the Gate. These two massive stone statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III symbolize the king’s rule over Egypt.
• Then, explore the spectacular royal burial site of the Valley of the Kings, where more than 60 richly decorated tombs of pharaohs have been discovered. 

Afternoon

• Join a local family for a traditional home-cooked lunch. 
• After lunch, you will have time to explore more of Luxor as you please. Speak to your Trip Leader for recommendations on what sites to visit or activities to do.

Evening

• Tonight’s dinner is not included, but your Trip Leader will provide a few recommendations.

Morning

• Join your friends for a breakfast buffet served at your hotel in Luxor.

2027 Itinerary for Day 7:

Hurghada

Morning

• Join your friends for a breakfast buffet served at your hotel in Luxor.
• Say goodbye to Luxor and begin your journey to the coastal city of Hurghada, a resort town on Egypt’s Red Sea coast. (~4 hour drive)

Afternoon

• Check into your resort in Hurghada and have some time to freshen up before heading out to either relax on the beach or walk around the town’s waterfront promenade.
• This afternoon is open for you to enjoy Hurghada as you please. After many days spent exploring, we built this day in order to simply relax and unwind.

Evening

• Join your group for an included dinner.
• Grab a taxi or opt to walk into the city center of Hurghada to explore the nightlife or stroll along the marina. Of course, you can simply relax at the resort and rest up after a full week of adventures.

Morning / Afternoon

• Wake up and enjoy breakfast at your Hurghada resort.
• Join your group for a private boat tour along the waters of the Red Sea.
• Today’s boat trip will provide opportunities for snorkeling, sunbathing on the deck, and swimming in the crystal clear waters.

Evening

• Return to your accommodations in the late afternoon and then freshen up for dinner.
• Get together with your newfound friends for your final dinner in Egypt.
• Reflect on your experience in Egypt and plan to meet up in the future!

Morning

• Wake up early to get more beach time or head to the market for some last-minute shopping. It’s your decision how to relax on your final day.
• Say goodbye to your friends and depart any time of the day with instructions from your Trip Leader on how to get to the Hurghada airport.
• The airport transfer is not included. Please allow approximately 20-25 minutes from the accommodation to the airport when planning your departure.
