France to Spain Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Paris

We highly recommend booking pre-trip accommodations if you'd like to fully immerse yourself in Paris' vibrant atmosphere.

2018 Trips:

  • Under30Experiences team will pick you up at Paris CDG Airport and depart to the Palace of Versailles, royal residence of Kings of France.
  • Visit the Gardens of Versailles and breathe in the beauty of King Louis XIV's royal château.
  • Arrive at your hotel in Burgundy, one of the most beautiful regions of France famous for its delicious wine. (apx. 3.5 hours drive)
  • Enjoy a traditional French dinner prepared by a French Chef.

2019 Trips:

  • Enjoy an additional night in Paris exploring everything that this historic city has to offer. Visit the Eiffel tower, Notre Dame de Paris, the Louvre, the Tuileries Garden, Place de la Concorde and more!
  • Take an optional Seine river cruise where you'll see the most beautiful monuments of the French Capital!
  • Have dinner in an authentic restaurant in Paris with your group and spend the night soaking in the famous City of Lights.

Day 2

*Additional Day for 2019 Trips: Wake up In Paris & Explore Dijon*

  • In 2019, wake up in Paris and make your way to Dijon via high speed train.
  • Have lunch in the ancient capital of Burgundy and enjoy the delicious regional cuisine unique to this part of the world. 
  • Wander through the medieval streets of Dijon before making our way to our new home in the French countryside of Burgundy.
  • Arrive in our beautiful home in the French countryside, enjoy a delicious glass of wine that was harvested just steps away.

Day 3

Explore French Gastronomy

  • Wake up in the Burgundy countryside and enjoy your coffee, pastries, and croissants straight from the boulangerie.
  • Enjoy a day of wine tasting at vineyards that have been family owned for generations and become fully immersed in French culture.
  • Explore the cute town of Beaune, capital of Burgundy wine.
  • Have a cooking class with a French Chef and learn the art of French cooking using fresh ingredients from the region of Burgundy.
  • Enjoy dinner you prepared with your new friends.

Day 4

Adventure Day

  • After your day of delicious cheese and wine, it is time for some much needed outdoor activity!
  • Explore the Canal de Bourgogne on a bike or hike through the picturesque farmland of Burgundy.
  • Have lunch in a local and small restaurant owned by a non-profit organization supporting the local economy and local products
  • Soak in the countryside in the late afternoon, relax on the grounds of our château and enjoy the French pace of life.
  • Go on an option hike in the gardens or play pétanque.
  • Prepare dinner as a team and enjoy your last night in Burgundy!

Day 5

Explore Chamonix

  • Depart Burgundy early and drive to the French Alps and stop in a beautiful town known as the 'Venice of the Alps’. (apx. 4 hour drive)
  • Arrive in Chamonix by the afternoon and explore the village that welcomed the first Winter Olympic Games in 1924.
  • Spend your first night in the Alps enjoying a regional dinner with the group.
  • Optional night out.

Day 6

Explore the French Alps

  • Start the day hiking in the French Alps and enjoy stunning views of Mount Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe standing at 15,776 feet.
  • Experience the top of the Aiguille du Midi at 12,605 feet and admire a 360° view of France, Switzerland, and Italy. *If weather permitting. 
  • Enjoy dinner at the restaurant with the group.
  • Optional night out.

Day 7

Bienvenidos a España!

  • Depart early in the morning for a new country, Spain.
  • This day includes a lot of driving and we recommend you to download some movies, podcasts & music if you can. (apx. 8 hour drive)
Late afternoon
  • Arrive at our boutique hotel in Begur, Costa Brava.
  • Hike and explore the ruins of the castle of Begur.
  • Enjoy a delicious traditional dinner in a local restaurant.
  • Optional night out.

Day 8

Costa Brava Beaches


  • Enjoy a Spanish breakfast at the hotel.
  • Spend the day soaking up the sun on the Mediterranean at some of the most beautiful beaches this side of the world has to offer.
  • In the afternoon, venture out on a stunning coastal hike that will connect you to neighboring beaches and towns.
  • Watch the sunset from the castle of Begur.
  • Have a late dinner in a local restaurant.
  • Optional night out.

Day 9

Catalonian Cultural Day

  • After a typical Spanish breakfast, go on a walking tour with a local guide and visit different medieval villages of Catalonia.
  • Have lunch in Peratallada, an 11th-century typical Catalonian village.
  • Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing at the beach.
  • Have tapas and paella for dinner in Begur and enjoy your last night in Costa Brava with your new friends.
  • Optional night out.

Day 10

Explore Barcelona

  • After a short drive, arrive at the enchanting seaside city of Barcelona, an epicenter for art, culture, food and nightlife.
  • Explore Barcelona. Suggestions: the Gothic Quarter, El Born, Poble Nou, food market La Boqueria and see the landmark Sagrada Família church.

  • Enjoy your last dinner with the group in Barcelona.
  • Optional night out.

Day 11

Relaxation & Departure

  • On the final day of our adventure, wake up early to soak in the last morning in Europe together.
  • Say goodbye to your fellow France & Spain group travelers and depart at any time of the day with instructions from your tour leaders on how to take taxis, busses, or even Uber to the airport.
  • Be sure to ask your trip leaders for suggestions on what to do if you chose to spend more time in beautiful Barcelona.
