France to Spain Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Paris

We highly recommend booking pre-trip accommodations if you'd like to fully immerse yourself in Paris' vibrant atmosphere.

  • Arrive at Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport (CDG) by 9:00 am
  • Your Trip Leader will pick you up at Paris Airport and you will take included transportation to your boutique hotel in the heart of Paris.
  • Enjoy a walk with your Trip Leader and learn more about Paris' and France's history and culture.  
  • Your Trip Leader will be giving you tips for finding supermarkets, ATMs, and recommendations for things to visit.
  • Spend a free afternoon making the best out of Paris
    Suggestions: Relax in the Gardens of Luxembourg; visit the world famous Louvre museum; or opt for a river cruise on the Seine river!
  • After some relaxing time at the hotel, meet the group for dinner and enjoy some French wine to celebrate your first night in France!

Day 2

Paris & Explore Dijon

  • Wake up in Paris and make your way to Dijon via high speed train.
  • Have lunch in the ancient capital of Burgundy and enjoy the delicious regional cuisine unique to this part of the world. 
  • Wander through the medieval streets of Dijon before making our way to our new home in the French countryside of Burgundy.
  • Arrive in our beautiful home in the French countryside, enjoy a delicious glass of wine.

Day 3

Experience French Gastronomy

  • Wake up in the Burgundy countryside and enjoy your coffee, pastries, and croissants straight from the boulangerie.
  • Travel to Beaune for an included blind wine tasting where our favorite Frenchies, Nicole & Pierre, will teach you their passion for Burgundy wine!
  • Explore the streets of Beaune and opt for a visit of the Hospices de Beaune.
  • Later that afternoon, learn the art of French cooking and execute recipes using fresh ingredients with the help of a Chef.
  • Get your belly full of delicious French food prepared by yourself and your group!
  • Enjoy some more French wine from the comfort of your guest house.

Day 4

Burgundy Canal Adventure

  • After your day of delicious cheese and wine, it is time for some much needed outdoor activity!
  • Explore the Canal de Bourgogne on a bike or hike through the picturesque farmland of Burgundy.
  • Have lunch in a local and small restaurant owned by a non-profit organization supporting the local economy and local products.
  • Soak in the countryside in the late afternoon, relax on the grounds of our château and enjoy the French pace of life.
  • Go on an optional hike in the gardens or play pétanque.
  • Prepare dinner as a team and enjoy your last night in Burgundy!

Day 5

Explore Chamonix

  • Depart Burgundy early and make your way to the French Alps.
  • Stop in the beautiful town of Annecy known as the 'Venice of the Alps' (~3 hour drive)
  • Arrive in Chamonix by the afternoon and explore the town that welcomed the first Winter Olympic Games in 1924.
  • Spend the afternoon surrounded by majestic snowcapped mountains.
  • Spend your first night in the French Alps enjoying dinner with the group.
  • Optional night out.

Day 6

Explore the French Alps

  • Have breakfast and spend another awesome day in the French Alps!
  • Today you can choose your own adventure!
    Suggestions: Paragliding is a very popular activity in Chamonix! Are you ready to fly? (weather permitting); Take the cable car and experience the Aiguille du Midi and look over the alps from 12,605 ft (weather permitting); Prefer to keep your feet on the ground? Chamonix is full of hiking trails. Go up a mountain and be blown away by stunning views of glaciers, the Mont Blanc and mountains surrounding you; You can also take a train to take you to the Mer de Glace in 20 minutes! (Optional activities)


  • After a day of adventure, time to eat some well-deserved French food!
  • Optional night out.

Day 7

Bienvenidos a España!

  • Depart early in the morning for a new country, Spain.
  • This day includes a lot of driving and we recommend you download some movies, podcasts & music (~8 hour drive).
Late afternoon
  • Arrive at our boutique hotel in Begur, Spain on the Spanish Coast known as La Costa Brava.
  • Hike and explore the ruins of the Castle of Begur.
  • Enjoy a delicious Spanish dinner in a local restaurant.
  • Optional night out.

Day 8

Costa Brava Beaches

  • If you wake up early, don’t miss the sunrise!
  • Enjoy an authentic Spanish breakfast at your hotel.
  • Spend the day soaking up the sun on the Mediterranean at some of the most beautiful beaches this side of the world has to offer.
  • Eat a delicious Paella for lunch while overlooking the Spanish coast.
  • In the afternoon, venture out on a stunning coastal hike that will connect you to neighboring beaches and towns.
  • Watch the sunset from the castle of Begur.
  • Have a late dinner in a local restaurant.
  • Optional night out.

Day 9

Catalonian Cultural Day

  • After a Spanish breakfast, go on a walking tour with a local guide and visit different medieval villages of Catalonia.
  • Learn about Catalan history and how this region differentiates itself from the rest of Spain.
  • Have lunch in Peratallada, an 11th-century typical Catalonian village.
  • Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing at the beach.
  • Enjoy tapas and paella for dinner in Begur.
  • Have a last night out in Costa Brava with your new friends.
  • Optional night out.

Day 10

Explore Barcelona

  • After a short drive, arrive at the enchanting seaside city of Barcelona, an epicenter for art, culture, food and nightlife.
  • Explore Barcelona with the help of your Trip LEader. 
    Suggestions: the Gothic Quarter, El Born, Poble Nou, food market La Boqueria and see the landmark Sagrada Família church.
  • To visit the Sagrada Familia, book your tickets online.
  • Enjoy your last dinner with the group in Barcelona.
  • Optional night out.

Day 11

Relaxation & Departure

  • On the final day of our adventure, wake up early to soak in the last morning in Europe together.
  • Say goodbye to your fellow France & Spain group travelers and depart at any time of the day with the help of your Trip Leaders on how to take taxis, busses, or even Uber to the airport.
  • Be sure to ask your Trip Leaders for suggestions on what to do if you chose to spend more time in beautiful Barcelona.
